The wave order will be determined the week prior to the race. SWIM START: The Swim starts on the beach behind Jack Stroup Civic Center our emcee will direct participants to the start location five minutes prior to the wave start. WETSUITS: The use of wetsuits is not allowed as Lake Jackson's water temperature will exceed 78 degrees in June! SWIM CAP: The swim cap is picked up during Athlete Check-In and must be worn during the swim. Don't trade your swim cap with another athlete, as the caps are color-coded to assist race management in organizing you at the swim start. You will be disqualified if you start in the wrong wave! Athletes are responsible for crossing the timing mats at the beginning and end of each segment (swim start through run finish). The chip must be affixed to either ankle prior to the swim start and must be worn during the entire event.

Each chip is encoded with your specific registration data, so don’t trade your chip with another athlete. T IMING CHIPS: You’re required to pick up your timing chip from 5:30 a.m. Be sure that the volunteer who marks you does so using the race number printed on your bike/ helmet stickers or run bib. Do not apply body lotion or sunscreen until after you've been marked. You will not be permitted in the transition area on race day without your body being marked. Sunday the north (lakeside) entrance to transition. The run number must be displayed during the run segment on the front of your body. Pin your run number to your shirt, swimsuit or race belt with the four safety pins provided in your race packet.īODY MARKING: Body marking will take place from 5:30-6:45 a.m. The small adhesive helmet number must be worn on the front of your bike helmet. Do not affix the number to your bike frame until after you're prepared to enter transition on Saturday. The adhesive bicycle frame number must be attached to your bike with the race number clearly visible from both sides of the bike. RACE NUMBERS: There are three race numbers in your race packet that you are required to display during the event:ġ. Once transition closes, relay members DO NOT have access. Bike & Run Relay members must inside of transition prior to 6:50 a.m. Transition access is from the lakeside (north side) only prior to the race and after the race. Transition opens after the last runner exits T2. Anybody not out of transition on time will be penalized. Athletes must have race numbers marked on their body and those numbers must match the numbers on helmets and bikes. TRANSITION ACCESS: Only registered athletes, USAT officials & designated volunteers are allowed into transition. Timing chips are all picked up Sunday morning outside of Jack Stroup Civic Center.

Legacy is one block on the left, with free parking in back. From Pier Beach go up to Sebring Circle (downtown) and turn right on Ridgewood Drive. Ridgewood Dr., just a 1/4 mile from the race venue at Pier Beach/Jack Stroup Civic Center. Friday & Saturday nights at Legacy Bicycles, 204 S. Protests of penalties assessed for rules infractions must be filed with the USAT Head Official within 60 minutes after the protesting individual finishes the race.ĪTHLETE CHECK-IN and PACKET PICK-UP: You must pick up your own packet and present a photo ID No exceptions, 4-8 p.m. All USAT rules will be in effect during the event.
